Conflict Management - Course Description

Conflict is a reality in business life and, indeed, life in general. In many ways, having conflict is not the main problem, it is when the conflict is ignored or not brought to the surface and dealt with that it can be deemed to be a problem.

This Conflict Management Course therefore, considers the whole area of Conflict and attempts to explore where Conflict comes from, how it can be dealt with and even more importantly how it can be anticipated and possibly prevented before it occurs.

The Conflict Management course is designed to allow participants to:

  • –  Understand the main causes of conflict in the workplace and in life
  • –  Gain exposure to a sample of “conflicts” that exist within most organisations
  • –  Understand a range of approaches to manage conflict in the workplace and in life
  • –  Explore how behaving “assertively” can help in resolving conflict
  • –  Appreciate the importance of “preventing” and “anticipating” conflict emerging
  • –  Recognise that the “aftermath” of conflict may have to be addressed

 

Who Should Attend?

The Managing Conflict course is aimed at any supervisor or manager who wants to gain an understanding of how to manage conflict in the workplace and approach conflict situations with confidence and competence.
